Maybe not watching it at the theater on a massive screen with a killer sound system made it dull, not giving it justice enough, I don’t know honestly what the reason might be, but I was rather disappointed with the final product or maybe I was too hyped and had expectations I should not of had.
I guess I expected more, definitely a stronger story, better picture, and more logic since half the stuff they did throughout the movie didn’t make any sense at all.
They came off as characters without any sense of knowing right and wrong, taking a step back to rethink their actions, and practically heartless, no depth or soul.
More like plain killers without any affection toward anyone, they were being non-rational, their first instinct and move was to shoot and kill no matter the situation, then, getting riled up over a huge gorilla attacking them when they attacked first? They stepped on HIS territory, dropping grenades, and then wonder why he’s trying to defend himself in the only way he knows how to? Of course, the animal is mad, and he had every right to be. Besides that, nothing really happened for almost two hours.
A couple of scientists team up to explore an unknown and uncharted island, entering a place much similar to a jungle with animals bigger than they could’ve ever imagined.
It sounded exciting, intense, almost scary in some way but they didn’t deliver as much as such plot could’ve given us. 4.8/10
