Natalie Dormer, the face you might recognize from not only The Forest but also the great TV hit show Games of Thrones is back in a questionable thriller with a twist that will leave you looking like a question mark throughout the film wondering what you’ve might’ve gotten yourself into when deciding to watch it.
In darkness follows the actress, this time portraying the role of a blind pianist, Sofia. When her hearing senses capture the murder of someone above her apartment, she enters a mysterious ride of London’s grim and criminalistic underworld.
Besides being a very confused script, In Darkness is also a film that will completely have you question your own intelligence, leaving you in wonder, uncertain if you’ve missed something or perhaps the director just wanted it to be impossible to make any sense of. It had the potential of becoming something great, a nail-biting thriller that would have the audience in awe, sadly, it became nothing but ashes after 30 minutes in and you’re left with unreasonable twists and no phoenix rising to the top with an impeccable finish as one would’ve hoped. 3.5/10
