The princess and the bore realms is a more suitable name for what I just watched, I cannot for the life of me figure out how not a single soul that was part of this production didn’t stop this film from being released. It was 1 hour and 39 minutes of the purest and most utter boredom I have experienced in a movie in a long time. In other words, an insult to the original Nutcracker, both E. T. A. Hoffmann’s who wrote The Nutcracker and Tchaikovsky who created the ballet version must be rolling in their graves.
First of all, it was about a princess and not a Nutcracker, and just that alone is quite the disrespect considering that the name is in the title itself.
The script was dull, lacked depth and soul, and falls flat immediately.
The acting wasn’t even remotely good even though huge names were seen on the screen, no emotions, simply plain.
Clara, a young girl enters a magical world of life-sized toys and an army of mice, a place where once her mother was queen.
The only credit I can give this movie, is the visual. A stunning and magical motion picture, such vivid colors and a dreamy fantasy land for one to escape whenever reality becomes to clear. Besides that, don’t bother with it. 2/10
